Lifetime Warranty

(If you believe one of our products needs warranty repair, please contact us at adventuretoolcompany@yahoo.com, and we will arrange for its return. DO NOT SIMPLY SEND BACK THE ITEM.)

We offer a lifetime warranty on the gear available for purchase on our website, as follows:

Should one of our products fail due to a defect in either materials or construction, we will repair or replace it, free of charge, for the lifetime of the product.

This warranty excludes abuse of our products, including, but not limited to, any manner of overt abuse (such as getting run over by a vehicle or bouncing down the side of mountain), personal modifications, heat or fire damage, smashed buckles, or discoloration/damage due to contact with chemicals or solvents. Abuse also includes allowing a bag to get so filthy that physical particulates of dirt, grime, gravel, etc. interfere with the proper functioning of zippers and buckles.

Though our textile materials are the most rugged and durable available, they are textiles. They can be cut with a very sharp blade, edge, or corner, and they can be punctured with a very sharp point. Care should be taken not to abuse them by cutting or puncturing.

Cleaning and caring for ATC gear in a manner other than what we recommend on our Cleaning ATC Gear page rescinds the warranty.

The Artist's Mini is not covered by the lifetime warranty, nor are promotional products, such as t-shirts, hats, stickers, etc.

Some further limitations may apply.  For more information please contact us at adventuretoolcompany@yahoo.com.

The customer returning the product for repair/replacement is responsible for the return shipping charges, while Adventure Tool Company will pay the shipping for sending the repaired/replaced item back to the customer.

For custom gear:

Custom gear isn't automatically covered under the above warranty, though a warranty agreement can be negotiated as part of the custom order contract.

Please note:

Adventure Tool Company's gear is handmade in Colorado, U.S.A., under the strictest quality control guidelines, using only the highest quality materials. The gear is all sewn using high-tensile nylon thread. We take great care to ensure that all ATC gear will provide you with countless years of faithful service.

Though our textile materials are the most durable and rugged available, they are textiles. They can be cut with a very sharp blade, edge, or corner, and they can be punctured with a very sharp point. If they are thus cut or punctured, the damage isn't due to a defect in material, but to a misuse of the gear, beyond its intended purpose. Similarly, our buckles are extremely hardy, but they are buckles, meant to be opened and closed. They might possibly break if stepped upon with a boot heel, struck with a heavy object, dropped from a great height, or misused in any other manner.

Funny Stories:

These are true stories, which we share to amuse.

One guy contacted us, and told us (we kid you not) that this is what he had done to his Tow Strap Throw-Bag (which has a buckle on the bottom). After fully loading the Bag, he had dropped it over and over again onto a concrete sidewalk because he wanted to see how long it would take to break the bottom buckle. So, after dropping the heavy Bag onto concrete about 37 times, the buckle finally broke. He then wanted a free repair, because... lifetime warranty.

Another guy emailed us, telling us that he had always kept his medium Gear Bag on the back seat of his 4Runner, had never moved it from there, but now it needed repair. At our request he emailed us some photos. A large ragged hole (about 4 inches in diameter) gaped in the side of the Bag, with several long tears radiating out from the hole. We're fairly sure that the back seats of 4Runners don't do that.

Yet another guy contacted us and told us that he had purchased a Camp Kitchen from us at an event one (1) week earlier, and that the Bag had failed immediately. He mailed it back to us. First, we could tell from the details of the label sewn on the bag that the bag was at least four (4) years old. Second, the bag was absolutely filthy, burned black in spots, and saturated with a sticky substance. And it appeared that mice or other varmints had chewed through it in multiple places. He continued to insist that the bag was only one (1) week old.

A nice fella (seriously) contacted us because he was confused about why two of the interior zippers on his Expedition Pack weren't zipping smoothly. He mailed the Pack to us. Turns out, the interior of the bag was so filthy that it was impossible to tell that the interior had once been Blaze Orange. Copious quantities of physical grit- three-dimensional particulates- had impacted the zipper coils, making it difficult to draw the zipper pulls. Thorough washing of the Pack took care of the problem, and the zippers resumed working.

One more, though we could continue. A guy told us that he and his dog (a black lab) loved using his Recovery Bag to play tug of war. He and the dog would each grab one handle, and tug and yank back and forth. Every time they went camping, this was one of the dog's favorite games. Finally, finally, one of the handles tore from the canvas. He wanted a free repair because... lifetime warranty.
